Director of the Fisheries Management and Marine Ecosystems Programmes.  Interests include the physical oceanography of Scottish waters (sea lochs, continental shelf, North Sea, north-east Atlantic) and its interaction with demersal and pelagic ecosystems. Additionally, aspects of climate change, its cause and possible impact on the ocean system and its ecosystems. Applications include the development of an ecosystem approach to environmental and fishery management.
